Engineering

As an Electrical Engineer I enjoy certain engineered structures and cityscapes. This is a collection of some of my favourite photos in this category.

Somerset Dam: Somerset Dam feeds into the Stanley River, which then feeds into the larger Wivenhoe Dam, which supplies a significant amount of drinking water for Brisbane.

Northbound Hornibrook Esplanade: The signs above the Viaduct, heading Northbound as the Hornibrook Esplanade splits at Elizabeth Avenue.

Main Street of Monto: Monto is Queenslands youngest town, being settled in 1924. With a population of just over 1,000 people it's nice country town that's always enjoyable to visit.

Lights at Night: The cricket ground lightstands at night cast an eerie aura.

Kings Beach: The street down to Kings Beach at Caloundra.

Harbour Bridge: I was last in Sydney in December 2018 and rediscovered this shot of the Harbour Bridge. You can clearly see the two Flags on top, the Australian Flag and the NSW State Flag.

Coolum Solar Farm: There’s something I love about the orderly precision layout of solar panels in a huge farm, knowing that they’re capturing free energy from the only nearby functional hot fusion reactor we have. At time of taking this it’s only 50% installed on the lease, 15MW capacity and offsets the entirety of the Sunshine Coast Councils electricity consumption, with some to spare. Nice :)
